The National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli (NIT Tiruchirappalli) is proud to introduce the Postgraduate Diploma Programme, the first programme of its kind in the NIT system. The Department of Instrumentation and Control Engineering, NIT Tiruchirappalli, in collaboration with Sri Kauvery Medical Care (India) Limited (KMC), Chennai, has jointly launched the Postgraduate Diploma in Healthcare Technology.
This one-year, full-time programme has been designed in alignment with the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 of the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The programme aims to equip learners with advanced knowledge, specialized competencies, and hands-on skills required to address the rapidly evolving needs of the healthcare technology sector. It is ideally suited for graduates and working professionals seeking to enhance their expertise, transition into the healthcare domain, or build careers in digital healthcare systems, medical technologies, and healthcare innovation. The programme also provides a strong academic foundation for higher studies and prepares graduates for specialized roles in hospitals, healthcare organizations, medical technology companies, and allied industries.
The Postgraduate Diploma in Healthcare Technology is a 40-credit programme offered over two semesters. The curriculum provides comprehensive coverage of modern healthcare technologies, digital health systems, medical devices and equipment, hospital technologies, healthcare informatics, and innovations in patient care. The courses are delivered by distinguished faculty members of NIT Tiruchirappalli, experienced physicians and technology specialists from KMC, and eminent experts from industry. In addition to classroom instruction, the programme incorporates mini-projects, internships, and a capstone project to provide extensive practical exposure and industry-oriented learning. Learners also have the flexibility to earn micro-credits by choosing specialized courses offered by hospital professionals and industry experts, enabling them to tailor their learning experience to their career aspirations.
