Student Life @ DoMS

"Surround yourself with the best people you can find, delegate authority, and don't interfere as long as the policy you've decided upon is being carried out." — Ronald Reagan

The students of DoMS are a reflection of its capability to produce renaissance managers of the future. They are the products of a transformation brought about by a rigorous academic curriculum, a healthy and interactive study culture and a broad-based orientation, as well as an inculcation in the values and morals which will make the students responsible managers and outstanding citizens of tomorrow. This is the purpose for the existence of the school.
At DoMS, we firmly believe in producing well rounded personalities, hence it isn't all work and no play at our campus. Numerous skills and talents have been unearthed from amongst our students and to allow these talents to flourish, numerous clubs have been started for likeminded individuals to meet and polish their skills. Along with that, there are social services clubs to allow students get in touch with reality and do their bit for the upliftment of the society as a whole.
DoMS follows the trimester pattern. Apart from classes, the remaining the time is spent by the students being engaged in various activities like quizzes, case study presentations, etc which help a student develop his extracurricular caliber.
The DoMS helps students discover their own selves, in terms of their personal values, strengths and aspirations. A student has an option of using a well equipped digitalized library. A well facilitated gymnasium and swimming pool is provided to keep students physically fit. Various sports facilities like tennis court, basketball courts are also provided to suit student interest.
Female students are accommodated in the Opal hostel complex. Male students are accommodated in one of the 16 men’s hostel situated in the campus. The hostels are well furnished with facilities like high speed Wi-Fi, heaters and full time security. Mess facilities are available which serve quality food and the dishes are such that they serve the cravings of each and every student.
Other facilities inside the college include a around the clock hospital, cafeterias and hotels. Shops are available inside the campus which cater to the basic needs of the students while for other shopping needs students can catch buses to Trichy city.
There are a lot of tourist spots in and around the college all of which are accessible by a proper network of buses which can be boarded from the college’s main gate. Places like Tanjavoor, Puliancholai are attractive places which will provide the students with an opportunity to tune out from the academic course and relax for a while.

CHRISTMAS CELEBRATIONS

NA

Overcoming the exhausting sojourn of online classes that ranged throughout the past year and a half, the shift to online classes was met with joy by one and all. The shift opened up avenues for our second-year batch to make amends for all the celebrations missed until then.
And what better way to celebrate togetherness than Christmas, the festival of joy and the most wonderful time of the year. From decorating the department to enjoying a fun DJ night and following it up with games and competitions, the event organizing committee (EOC) had it all covered. All the batchmates chipped in too with music and dance performances adding more panache to the celebration. Being one of the rarest moments to celebrate in person after the Covid induced closures, the second year made the most out of the day. Meanwhile the first year EOC too organized a fun-filled celebration online with fun games and an intriguing Secret Santa event. The memories made on Christmas day will be treasured for the rest of their lives.

DIWALI CELEBRATIONS

NA

The festival of lights is an outcome of an epic tale that spreads the teachings of unity and harmony. Light over darkness, hope over despair, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil as even the UN lights up with this regard, this year. Diwali, wherein parts of the world light up with candles, earthen lamps, and lanterns to commemorate the festivities and Indians celebrate with breathtakingly beautiful fireworks on display, with friends and family, was celebrated in DoMS as well, to brighten the evening. Starting with the lighting of “diyas” and decorating the floral design to the “aarti” and sweets offered to God, every student’s heart delved into devotional moments for the festivity. Soon after, students took charge of the bursting of crackers in full swing. With subtle background music, dinner was served and it was a sumptuous one! No sooner the dinner was done, desi beats were played and the whole night turned into a DJ party. The whole event was more or less a festival celebrated at a home away from home! As the festival marks the return of Lord Rama to Ayodhya from his 14-year-long exile, the whole concept of Diwali to spread the culture and enrich the current state of affairs of a nation, was seen clearly in DoMS!

Holi is a Hindu spring festival, also known as the "festival of colours" or the "festival of love". The festival signifies the victory of good over evil, the arrival of spring, end of winter, and for many a festive day to meet others, play and laugh, forget and forgive, and repair broken relationships. It is also celebrated as a thanksgiving for a good harvest. As every year DOMS celeberated  Holi this year too with great zest and zeal. All the first year and second year students coloured each other in 'Gulal'. This day observed people from varied states, forgetting their religions and variations and drenching themselves in colours of diversities. The day turned out to be an amazing event to bring together the entire family of DOMS and unleash the inner kids in all.
