The Chemical Engineering Association was setup under the Department of Chemical Engineering at the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirapalli with the aim of enhancing and enriching the knowledge in chemical engineering . It unites Siva from different academic institutions to share their ideas, knowledge and their technical expertise with the students and engineers in the domain of Chemical Engineering to keep abreast with the latest developments. The association organizes guest lectures by delegates from premier institutions across the globe, technical symposiums and various other events that help students from the host institute as well as from other institutes in India. It helps them to understand the subject and its practical applications better. ALCHEMY – The technical Symposium organized by the institute is one of the best Chemical Engineering symposiums in India. The symposium includes various events, offers workshops on leading technologies and also provides the platform for budding engineers to showcase their potential and talents.
The Chemical Engineering Association under the Department of chemical Engineering was inaugurated on the 28th of September 2011 for the current academic year under the presence of Dr. Pathanjali, (Head of HEB R & D Labs and Head of Operations, High Energy Batteries, Trichy). During the inauguration the students and faculty members were greeted with inspiring speeches by the chief guests, the Director Dr. Srinivasan Sundarrajan, the head of the department Dr. T.K.
