Bio Sketch

Academic Details

Dr.D.Nagarajan did his Bachelor of Engineering from Government College of Engineering, Salem during the year 2002. He holds Masters of Science in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering as a major subject from IITM, Madras. He did his doctorate on Metal Forming from The University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia on 2014. He did his post doctorate fellowship (PDF) from IITM, Madras. He holds 8 years of industrial, research and teaching experience in both India and overseas in the metal forming processes, prior to joining NIT, Trichy as Assistant professor during 2018. He presently guiding 1 PhD scholar. He has 12 International publications,. Many academic positions were held by him over the past and have organised FDP, STP, National and international level seminars, workshops and conferences.

 

Research Interests

Dr.D.Nagarajan has his research interest towards in the metal forming processes (Incremental sheet forming, Multi-point forming and die-less forming techniques), mechanical behaviour of materials, casting processes, microscopy techniques (Optical, SEM and TEM), non- destructive testing, and light alloys (Mg, Al and Ti) development technology for the aerospace and automotive applications.. Based on his research interests, he undertook research works funded by various funding organisations like DST and catapult High value Manufacturing, UK. The total project work pursuing about INR 12.10 Lakhs and completed about 80000 pounds.
