Academic programmes

Presently, this department offers one undergraduate programme, two postgraduate programmes and, research degree programmes in master’s level and doctoral level.

Under-Graduate programme:

  • B.Tech. in Instrumentation and Control Engineering (ICE)

This course has a sanctioned intake of 130 students per year who are selected by the Joint Entrance Examination JEE (Main) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), 10% of the total number of students are admitted through NRI and DASA quota.

Post-Graduate programmes:

  • M.Tech. in Industrial Automation (IA)

This programme was started in 2020 with a sanctioned intake of 25 students per year who are selected through CCMT (CENTRALIZED COUNSELLING FOR M.TECH./M.ARCH./M.PLAN. ADMISSIONS); the first batch graduated in the year 2022. This course is run independently by the Department and Instrumentation and Control Engineering Department.

  • M.Tech. in Process Control and Instrumentation (PCI)

This is an interdisciplinary programme offered by the Department of Chemical Engineering along with the department of Instrumentation and Control Engineering.

Research programmes:

  • M.S.(by research)  in the various fields of Instrumentation and Control Engineering for part-time scholars.
  • Ph.D.  in the various fields of Instrumentation and Control Engineering for regular and part-time scholars.

 

The curriculum is revised periodically with inputs from industries, experts from educational institutions of higher ranking and alumni to fulfil the current requirements and developments in the process industries and International and National research organizations. The department has state-of-the-art laboratories and well committed faculty members who cater to providing quality education for all the programmes.
