The undergraduate programme structure is designed to gear students up to face challenging jobs in the industry as well as orient them towards specialising in their field of interest. Apart from core departmental courses such as turbomachines, automobile engineering and fluid dynamics, the programme constitutes subjects in instrumentation, elecronics and electrical sciences. Towards the end, concepts such as industrial economics and management principles are covered. Students can also choose from inter-departmental courses for their electives.
In-plant training, industrial visits and projects during the course of the programme enable students to get a hands-on experience in the industry.
