Suresh Sitaraman | Research Dr Suresh K Sitaraman is the Regents' Professor and Morris M. Bryan, Jr. Professor of the George W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering, Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, USA. He received his Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Mechanical Engineering from Regional Engineering College, Tiruchirappalli (now known as National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli) affiliated to University of Madras in 1982. He also obtained his Master of Applied Science (M.A.Sc.) degree from the University of Ottawa, Canada in 1985 and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the Ohio State University, USA in 1989.

Nagi Naganathan

Dr Nagi Naganathan received his bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Regional Engineering College, Tiruchirappalli ( now known as National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli), master's degree from Clarkson University and his doctorate of philosophy degree from Oklahoma State University. He is the president of the Oregon Institute of Technology. National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli awarded him the Distinguished Alumnus Award in 2007.

Academy of Europe: Ravichandran Guruswami

Dr Guruswami Ravichandran received his Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in mechanical engineering from Regional Engineering College, Tiruchirappalli (now known as National Institute of Technology,Tiruchirappalli), formerly affiliated to University of Madras in 1981. He received Master of Science (M.S.) in Solid Mechanics and Structures in 1983, Applied Mathematics in 1984 and Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) in Solid Mechanics and Structures in 1986, all from Brown University. He is a John E. Goode, Jr., professor of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering at California Institute of Technology. National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli awarded him Distinguished Alumnus Award in 2008.

KR Sridhar, PhD - Bloom Energy Dr. KR Sridhar is a visionary engineer, professor, and entrepreneur. In 2001, he co-founded Ion America, which later became Bloom Energy, a solid oxide energy platform company with a mission to make clean, reliable energy affordable for everyone on earth. Prior to founding Bloom Energy, KR was Director of the Space Technologies Laboratory (STL) at the University of Arizona where he was also a professor of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering. Under his leadership, STL won several nationally competitive contracts to conduct research and development for Mars exploration and for flight experiments to Mars. KR has served as an advisor to NASA and has led major consortia of industry, academia, and national labs. His work for the NASA Mars program to convert Martian atmospheric gases to oxygen for propulsion and life support was recognized by Fortune Magazine, where he was cited as “one of the top five futurists inventing tomorrow, today.” KR serves on the Board of Directors for C3 AI, the External Advisory Board at Caltech’s Resnick Sustainability Institute, and the Board of Visitors at the Grainger College of Engineering at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Additionally, he has served as a strategic limited partner at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and as a special advisor to New Enterprise Associates. An early pioneer in green tech, KR has also served on many technical committees, panels, and advisory boards and has several publications and patents. He received his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with Honors from the University of Madras (now called NIT, Trichy), India, as well as his master’s degree in Nuclear Engineering and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
Professor Vallabh Sambamurthy, Eli Broad Professor at the Eli Broad College  of Business at Michigan State University gets appointed as the Dean of the  Wisconsin School of Business. | IIM Calcutta Dr Vallabh Sambamurthy is the Albert O. Nicholas Dean of the Wisconsin School of Business of the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He received his Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) with honors in mechanical engineering from National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli (formerly Regional Engineering College, Tiruchirappalli) in 1981. He received his Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) from Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta in 1983 and Doctorate of Philosophy degree from Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota.
TV Narendran becomes chairman of Tata Steel CEC - टाटा स्टील सीईसी के  चेयरमैन बने टीवी नरेंद्रन Shri T. V. Narendran is an Indian business executive. He is currently the global CEO and Managing Director of Tata Steel, one of the largest steel producers in the world. He is the current President of Confederation of Indian Industry. Narendran holds an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering from Regional Engineering College, Tiruchirappalli (now known as National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli) and an MBA from Indian Institute of Management Calcutta.
Venkat Selvamanickam Dr. Venkat Selvamanickam is the M.D Anderson Chair Professor of Mechanical Engineering and a Professor of Physics at the University of Houston. He is also the Director of the Applied Research Hub of the Texas Center for Superconductivity at the University of Houston. He received his Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree with honors in mechanical engineering from Regional Engineering College, Tiruchirappalli (now known as National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli) in 1986. He then received Master of Science (M.S.) degree in mechanical engineering and Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) in materials engineering from University of Houston in 1988 and 1992 respectively.
