We constantly endeavor to expand our horizons.

Today the library boasts of a state of the art Audio Visual Section, CD ROM workstation, and Digital Knowledge Centre.

Audio-Visual Section

The Audio-Visual Section is equipped with a Microfilm Reader, Lingua phone Laboratory, Audio Cassette Players, Color Television Sets, Video Cassette Recorders and over 1400 Educational Audio & Video cassettes. Discs on almost all foreign languages are available in the library. Students use the record players and computers for preparing for TOEFL and GRE examinations.

CD-ROM Workstation

The library has been subscribing to DIALOG ON DISC Compendex Plus (Engineering Index) CD-ROM database from 1987 to date and now it is known as K R INFORMATION ON DISC. Under the UK-India RECs Project the library has subscribed to UMI /PROQUEST INSPEC ON DISC CD-ROM database from 1996 to 1998. These two databases cover the entire Engineering field and Physics.
Under the Center of Excellence scheme the library has procured McGraw Hill Multimedia Encyclopedia of Science and Technology on CD-ROM. With the introduction of CD-ROM work-station, the world of Engineering literature is at one's finger tips. The CD-ROM is really a boon for literature survey, especially for research scholars. CD- ROM works on a set of menus which is user friendly. 

Digital Knowledge Centre

Digital Knowledge Centre (e-Learning Centre) was established recently to facilitate e-Learning. Digital Knowledge Centre (UG) has been equipped with 15  Computer systems with DVD-RW Drive. Digital Knowledge Centre (PG & Research) has been equipped with 9 Computer systems with DVD-RW Drive. In addition Wi-Fi was been provided for laptop users.

Library Staff Training

* Mr. L. Parisutharaj underwent a six-month short term course on Information Management at Lough - borough University followed by a two-month attachment at DeMont Fort University under TCTP.
* Mrs. G. Thamaraiselvi undertook a 15 day study tour to the UK under the UK-India RECs Project.
* Mr. P. Mounissamy underwent a 4 week INFLIBNET training at Ahmedabad and a three day staff attachment with BCD, Chennai under the UK - India RECs project.
