M. Sc. (Applied Physics)

In the academic year 2007 – 2008, the existing M.Sc. (Applied Electronics) programme has been modified as M.Sc. (Applied Physics). This conversion helps to open up wider avenues for the Physics students to achieve excellence in academic and research careers.

M.Sc. (Applied Physics) programme encompasses all necessary basic Physics courses and laboratory practicals. The theory courses are designed in the line of GATE and CSIR syllabus. In addition, the programme is complemented with advanced topics like Non Destructive Testing, Lasers and Applications, Thin-Films and Applications, Nano-Science and Technology etc., as electives. In order to ignite the students’ mind in making a research career, they are guided to do a project on frontier research areas in the fourth semester.
