Research Interest
1. Nanomaterials
Semiconductor nano structures are one of the highly interesting materials for future electronic, photonic and opto-electronic devices. Preparation and band gap tailoring gains interest due to the potentiality of these materials. Currently, we are preparing doped and un- doped ZnO, Co3O4, MgO nanoparticles and study their optical properties.

2. Light and nanomaterial Interaction (steady state and ultrafast spectroscopy)
Light matter interaction is one of the active area of research. Light interaction with nano- materials gained more interest because of the size, shape and host dependent property of nanomaterials. Investigations on charge carries will open new kind of electronic and photonic devices.

3. Nonlinear Optics
Laser interaction with nanostructural materials is important for Photonics and Nanotechnology. Size dependent and host dependent properties of nanosized metal and semiconductor clusters are very interesting. Apart from this Intensity and frequency of exciting laser also plays a crucial in their nonlinear light transmitting property.

4. Glasses and Laser materials Spectroscopy
Glasses are one of the fascinating materials because of their compositional and dopant dependent properties. Rare earth ions incorporation in glasses will make these materials are suitable for lasing action. Compositional dependent absorption and emission properties of RE ions are interesting.

5. Nano Bio
Nanotechnology has extensive application in medical industry, very precisely in disease treatment. We study the antifungal properties of Ag, ZnO and CuO nanoparticles. This work we do collaboratively with Bharathidasan University
