Department Profile

CEESAT-Center for Energy and Environmental Science and Technology formed under the protocol signed by the Government of India and United Kingdom. The department has been inceptioned as an interdisciplinary nodal center to enhance the excellence in training, research and consultancy in Energy and Environmental Science. Main emphasis will be given to the identification of appropriate technologies for the efficient production, distribution and use of energy.

Course Profile

The two year M.Tech course on Energy Engineering aims at offering a competency based education to

emphasize an Energy Engineer to perform tasks such as

• Choosing an energy source and evaluating its economic viability.

• Choosing an energy option with reference to environmental benefits.

• Setting up energy management as a regular feature.

• Selecting appliances and designing suitable devices.

• Energy auditing and devising conservation schemes.

• Simulating energy consuming devices by CFD techniques.

Activities

Every year,the centre organizes a one day seminar/workshop ,to expose the students to the expert lectures delivered by officials from organisations like NLC,BHEL,TANU,CECRI and solar passive consultancies.These programs include poster and video clipping competations and awareness campaings on energy efficiency and renewable energy.
